Our History

GME is a diversified manufacturer of Trench Shielding and Trench Shoring products. We offer a complete line of products ranging from a single hydraulic shore to the largest slide rail systems. We have one of the largest distribution networks in North American as well as distributors in Japan and Australia. As an industry pioneer since the 1960’s, GME quickly took a leadership position in product engineering and industry development.  GME holds patents on many trench shield features and continues to lead the industry in the areas of product development, product innovation and product effectiveness.

Our original facility in Union City, Michigan has been expanded over the years to meet the growth demands of the industry.  Currently we have two plants dedicated to trench shield and trench shoring production at our Union City headquarters location, as well as a recently dedicated new facility to Research and Development. Thru the efforts of the R&D team GME is able to respond to the ever changing needs of our distributors and their contractors. In addition to the facilities in Michigan, we have a satellite manufacturing and distribution facility in Reno, Nevada for trench shield and trench shoring support.
